I started as a consulting engineer with CSE Engineering for various traditional power generation plants in the US before coming to Johnson. At Johnson I held the role of VP of Traditional Energy and was captain of the Johnson Energy Club team in the Ross Renewable Energy Case Competition in 2013 and 2014 (taking 1st and 2nd place respectively). Energy Club alumni offered strong guidance in the career search process. Energy Club connections offered opportunities for gaining real world experience, notably a semester long consulting project on energy storage with SunEdison and subsequent full-time position in SunEdison's Advanced Solutions group continuing work on advanced energy storage.

Before Johnson I worked for National Grid, a multinational electric and gas utility company. I participated in a rotational program where I spent time in both electrical engineering and operations roles on the electric and natural gas side of the business. While at Johnson I was the VP of Renewable Energy for the Energy Club and I met a fellow Cornell alumni during the club’s annual Johnson Energy Connection event. This introduction was key in leading to an internship with the start-up Digital Lumens, and ultimately my full-time position with EnerNOC.

Prior to Johnson I worked as a natural gas analyst focused on the Marcellus and Utica shale plays. Coming to business school I kept an open mind as far as career options, but thought I wanted to work for an oil and gas producer following graduation. Johnson’s Energy Club helped refine my knowledge in energy through educational seminars and I ended up interning for the summer at a small private equity firm with an emphasis in energy investments. Following my internship I knew I wanted a larger training platform for energy finance, and in the beginning of my second year at Johnson I recruited in Houston for investment banking positions. I will be working full-time at RBC Capital Markets in Houston as an investment banking Associate in the oil and gas industry group.
